Romans 10:17 tells us that, “Faith comes through hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ.”
So I want to ask you guys a question today…If I hold my bible up to my ear, will I hear it say anything?
Of course not. This is why it is so important that we learn to SPEAK the word of God out loud over our circumstances. As we speak the word over our circumstances, we begin to build our faith. It allows all the residue of unbelief to fade away.
I want you guys to remember: When Jesus faced the devil in the wilderness He spoke ONLY the word of God. The word of God is a powerful weapon that the enemy just cannot stand against! That word is sharper than any two-edged sword, and when you speak the word over your situation, mountains have to move!
I want you to think of it this way: Pick a scripture that will serve as a “seed” for you in seasons where you are waiting on a promise for God. For example, if you need financial provision, hold onto a scripture concerning finances, etc. And then…I want you to take your “GOS-PIL” once in the morning and once at night (kind of like a prescription!) by speaking that scripture out loud over your circumstances. This is so powerful, and as you speak the word of God, it is actually penetrating deep into your soul and is doing a healing work into your circumstances.
“My son, attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my words.Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart.For they are life unto those that find them and medicine to all their flesh.” -Proverbs 4:20-22
Did you guys catch that? This scripture just stated that God’s word is a literal MEDICINE to our flesh! How powerful is speaking the word of God!
Here’s the other thing I want you guys to remember…even if you don’t know what the root cause of your problem is that you have been facing, as you read the Word of God, it is searching your soul. It judges the thoughts and attitudes of your heart! Check the following verse out:
“For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.” -Hebrews 4:12
So you can see, there is a very direct correlation between speaking and decreeing the word of God over your situation and seeing your faith grow.
What are you believing God for in your circumstances today? Speak the word of God over your situation! If you haven’t seen that thing budge yet in the natural-don’t panic! God is on the move, and even if you don’t know how to “fix” it, as you decree the word of God, it will pierce through your circumstances and shift things in the atmosphere. Keep believing.
