The Heart Of An Intercessor

Intercessors don’t just have a daily time of prayer. Prayer is a way of life for them.  Some signs God might be prompting you to pray:

1. Someone keeps popping on your mind randomly (might be a prompting to pray for them)

2. Some experience mild nausea or an “upset stomach” until the prayer burden has been prayed through in urgent situations

3. “Travailing prayer” (crying in the spirit as a heart cry of God when praying for someone or something)

4. When praying over others for healing for sickness or pain in their body, you may experience it in the same location that needs to be prayed over on them

5.  God gives you a vision of a person or situation that needs intervention in that moment

6. You feel sudden oppression out of nowhere and negative thoughts that are back to back to back (usually a call to pray to break the spiritual warfare)

Intercessors…never forget today: Maintaining an active prayer life increases your sensitivity to what is going on in the spirit realm. When God calls you to pray, can I encourage you: Don’t put it off. Respond to that prompting in the moment.

I’ve been guilty in the past about ignoring a prayer burden and telling God, “I will get to praying for that thing after this tv show is over, when I’m back at the house, etc.” And then I noticed…that by the time that activity was over, the prayer burden was gone. And when I asked God about it, He said: “Jill, I needed you to be obedient in the moment. Not when it was convenient for you.”

Ouch. Saints-your prayers are POWERFUL. When God calls you to pray, be obedient in the moment. The enemy will always try to downgrade the importance of prayer, because he knows that your prayers are what hinders HIM. Never forget that even if you don’t feel or see instant results from your prayers, they are powerful and they are making an impact. Let the intercessors arise, today!

“The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective.” -James 5:16
